Fashion. Me? I know, it’s a long shot for me to even begin to describe the way I dress as fashion but I have my trusty dictionary to back me up. According to my main muse, zee Oxford dictionnaire, the word, “fashion” is a noun which means “a popular or the latest style of clothing, hair, decoration, or behaviour”. There is a second meaning, namely, “A manner of doing something”. Now this seems to give me a bit more ammunition for my I’ve-got-some-fashion-sense-I-promise argument. Fact is, I like the way I dress. No skirts or dresses, due to the fact that they just don’t feel like me. Jeans. Shirts. Blazers. Lots of grey, navy and black. Not too much jewellery other than my staple Frank Gehry Torque ring that lives on my right hand, my favourite charms on a thin necklace, a pair of simple loops I’ve worn in my ears since I was 20 or so and a Lion’s tooth I pickedup on one of my trips to Africa. Too many white tees and vests, so much so that people think I wear the same thing every day. Ha!
I consider myself similar to a football fan who doesn’t play or an art collector who doesn’t paint. Or a music fan who can’t sing. Though I believe if I were to try, fashion could actually play a massive role in my life. Now, don’t get me wrong, it does. Just more internally than externally. Those who are close to me, turn to me for style advice on many an occasion. Sometimes I hit the bullseye, other times I fail. Fact is, I love playing dress up in my head and due to the internet and my trusty iPhone 6 Plus (Gold of course!), TTChatterbox (C’est moi!) will be pulling together items from around the world, to bring some looks for those of you who need a little inspiration.
